THE AMAZING SILK,SPECIALLY REVESILK
Silk is a natural protein fibre, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The best-known type of silk is obtained from the cocoons of the larvae of the mulberry silkworm Bombyx reared in captivity. The shimmering appearance of silk is due to the triangular prism-like structure of the silk fibre, which allows silk product to refract incoming light at different angles, thus producing different colors.
ORIGIN OF SILK
According to the resource, Chinese legend gives the title Goddess of Silk to queen Hsi-Ling-Shih, She is credited with the introduction of silkworm rearing and the invention of the loom round 2700 BC. However, recently archaeological finds a silkworm relic which would be from 6000 and 7000 years ago.

Our silk is natural and organic fibre. Our long mulberry silk is farmed organically in a tranquil environment. Our silk is specially made by hand from teasing silk filaments from a coccon and layering the silk floss into the duvets. Most manufactures do this process with machine and softeners (or conditioners) are added into the machine with tons of cocoons. We tease each cocoon with hands! OUR MULBERRY SILK
Because of the climbing price of mulberry silk, there are many suppliers are selling cheaper silk duvet which are filled with a mix of polyester and silk, or chopped strand silk which is essentially off cuts of silk that can’t be used for anything else. Our silk duvet comes with a small inspection zip where you can inspect the quality of the silk inside the duvet.
OUR CHARMEUSE SILK
Charmeuse is a luxury fabric made from silk with a satin finish. It has a floating appearance which drapes very well, especially for formal wear and luxury bed linen. Mommes (mm) are units of weight traditionally used to measure the density of silk. It is similar to the use of thread count for cotton fabric.
For silk sheets a momme weight of 12-19 is considered good quality with silk sheets in the range of 16-19 being very high quality. Anything lower than 12 will result in sheets that are not as durable as they should be which means they will be more prone with damage and tearing. Reve Silk produces the best silk bed linen which are made from 100 percent mulberry silk; have a momme count of 19 and a thread count of 400. Cheap silk sheets almost always have a low momme weight. This is because physically less silk has been used to make the article and therefore it can be sold cheaply. There are and always will be cheaper versions but as with most things in life, we get what we pay for.
